Publication Ethics
Nursing Case Insight Journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The journal follows guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure integrity in scholarly publishing.
Duties of Authors
- Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original, free from plagiarism, and have not been published or submitted elsewhere.
- Authors are responsible for the accuracy of data, appropriate citation of sources, and acknowledgment of funding or institutional support.
- All authors listed must have made a significant contribution to the research and agree to the final version of the manuscript.
- Authors must obtain patient consent and ensure proper anonymization in case reports to protect confidentiality.
- Any conflict of interest must be clearly disclosed.
Duties of Editors
- Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts are suitable for publication, based on scholarly merit and relevance to the journal’s scope.
- Editors must ensure a fair and unbiased review process, maintaining confidentiality and avoiding conflicts of interest.
- Editors must take appropriate action if they detect ethical concerns, such as plagiarism or data fabrication.
Duties of Reviewers
- Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and must provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
- Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and must not use any information for personal advantage.
- Reviewers should identify relevant published work not cited by the authors and report any ethical concerns to the editors.
Duties of the Publisher
- The publisher ensures the integrity of the academic record and supports the editorial team in maintaining ethical standards.
- The publisher works with editors and authors to address any cases of research or publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data falsification, and duplicate publication.
Ethical Issues in Case Reports
- Case reports must comply with ethical standards, including informed consentfrom patients or legal guardians.
- Identifying details must be removed or anonymized unless explicitly agreed upon by the patient.
- Authors must clearly state in the manuscript that informed consent has been obtained.
