Screening for Plagiarism Policy
Nursing Case Insight Journal is strongly committed to upholding academic integrity and the originality of submitted manuscripts. To prevent plagiarism and research misconduct, all manuscripts undergo a strict plagiarism screening process.
Plagiarism Screening
- The journal uses plagiarism detection software(e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, or equivalent) to check all submissions before they enter the peer review process.
- Manuscripts with a similarity index higher than 20%(excluding references and quotes) will be returned to authors for revision or rejected outright.
- Editors may re-check manuscripts at any stage of the review, revision, or publication process if plagiarism is suspected.
Types of Plagiarism Considered Unacceptable
- Direct Plagiarism— Copying text, data, or ideas from other sources without proper citation.
- Self-Plagiarism— Republishing one’s own previously published work without disclosure or proper citation.
- Mosaic Plagiarism— Borrowing phrases or text from a source without quotation marks or paraphrasing too closely.
- Data Fabrication / Falsification— Manipulating or inventing data, results, or references.
Author Responsibility
- Authors must ensure that their work is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism.
- Authors must acknowledge all sources of information, including figures, tables, and data sets.
Editorial Action
- Manuscripts with detected plagiarism will be immediately rejected.
- If plagiarism is found after publication, the article may be retractedand the author’s institution notified.
- The journal follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics)guidelines in handling plagiarism and publication misconduct.
